Sligo Northside Community Partnership Ltd is a community voluntary organisation based in the North Ward of Sligo Town. The aim of the organisation is to respond to the social, economic and educational needs of the community with emphasis on those experiencing poverty, social exclusion and inequality.
The company is managed by a board of directors who work on a voluntary basis and are drawn from the beneficiaries of the various projects. The focal point of the work is the Northside Resource Centre where a range of programme and activities are operate for and with community.
Programmes currently operating include a pre-school playgroup, after school club, youth group, women and men’s group, senior citizens club, local community history club, silver surfers computer classes.
We manage a FAS Community employment project with eleven employees who support the running of the centre and the associated projects.
Our childcare project employs eight part-time employees who deliver the childcare project. We manage a Drugs outreach project, and Peace 111 funded cross border project. We work in collaboration with a number of agencies to deliver a range of accredited training courses targeting early school leavers, the under and unemployed.
The Community Development Project is responsible for the development and administration of the work with the support and guidance of community volunteers and the board of directors.
