Greater Cloughreagh Community Association 
Who We Are
We are a committee that has been elected to represent the interests of the residents of the Greater Cloughreagh Area. Our current members are as follows:-
Deirdre Magill, Chairperson

Amanda Crozier, Treasurer
Lisa McElroy, Committee MemberBridie McCreesh, Committee Member

 
Where we represent

Greater Cloughreagh covers the following areas:
 
(1)     Cloughreagh (2) JF Kennedy Park (3) Millvale Park (4) Wilton Grove (5) Derrybeg Cottages (6) Archdale (7) Brooklawns (8) Bramble Wood (9) Moninna Park (10) Station Close (11) Camlinn Close (12) Millvale Road.
 
Our base
 
We lease premises from the Council – Cloughreagh Community Centre, Bessbrook. We are situated outside Newry, near Bessbrook, in the Newry & Mourne area. Although we do not feature on the Noble Indices of Multiple Deprivation, our area displays many of the socioeconomic factors of the populations in the Neighbourhood Renewal areas.
 
 

Our aims

  • To work cross community to ensure all residents are represented and able to gain access to all programmes in the area.
  • To generate activities that will decrease the number of persons experiencing social exclusion in the community.
  • To build a sense of community, to end community fracture
  • To create community events that brings people together and create a sense of wholeness
  • To promote accessible health and educational programmes to local residents.
  • To recruit more persons to our committee

  • Comprehensive Needs Assessment of our area
  • Focus Groups with Hard to Reach Groups for Needs Assessment
  • Winter Health and Wellbeing programme
  • Health Fair
  • Community Leadership Programme
  • Certificate in Management
  • Funding Applications for Community Festival in Summer 2011
