Altamuskin Community Centre

 Altamuskin Community Association runs Altamuskin Community Centre. We have 16 committee members. Our main aim is to keep all of our Community coming to and using the centre.  We have done this by running many programs.  We run children’s sports camp for ages P1 up to 16 year olds.  We run fitness programs for men and women.  A playgroup, a credit union and an outreach post office is run from the centre.  We also have a Senior and Junior Youth Club run from the centre.  Recently the mobile library bus has started to make a stop at the centre every two weeks.  We are always open to ideas from the community and ran a flower arranging class and jewelry class.  Then for our dancers we have a weekly dance class and then they can dance the night away once a month at our very popular dances. We have an over fifties group and have done different activities such as yoga, crocheting, personal training and flower arranging. In the near future we are planning a computer class there has been a lot of interest in this. We run different fundraisers during the year and in 2010 we put together The Altamuskin five mile run.  It put us on the map we are doing the run again this year.  We donated the proceeds last year to The Northern Ireland Hospice.  This year we are making donations to The order of Malta and Marie Curie.  Our Association is going from strength to strength and we look forward to the opportunity of taking part in The Community Leadership Program.
