Year 3 videos – what happens next?

James McGinley's picture

Congratulations to the 35 year 3 groups who recently completed filming their promotional video, showcasing their work and achievements. Many found it a bit nerve-wrecking under the lights but everyone did a great job representing their group! I know that everyone is keen to see the finished products but there is still some work to be done before we unveil the final versions. So here's what happens next...

The videos are currently being edited. This process of picking out your best bits, removing any slips or errors and then adding in your photos and chosen music is pretty time-consuming.  I'll work with the BNL technicians to make sure everyone looks their best and gets their message across in the 2-3 minutes available! Then we'll send these versions to our funders, IFI, for their approval.  Once they have given the green light,  we'll post your videos on the CLP website and YouTube. We hope to be able to send you these links before Christmas so you can share them on your own website, social networking sites etc. The films will also be shown as part of the celebrations at  the final roundtable workshop in February, when every year 3 group will receive a dvd of all 35 films to keep.

I've found it really interesting to be involved in this aspect of the CLP - both seeing the technical side of the shoots and editing, and hearing you all talking about your achievements and goals.  I hope you enjoyed it too and, once again, well done to everyone who took part!
