I've had a couple of enquiries about the 'Marketplace' activity at next week's Final Roundtable Workshop event in Cavan, so here is a short explanation that I hope will help you make the most of this last networking opportunity for all the year 3 groups...
The basic idea behind the marketplace exercise is for groups to identify a) any information, advice, practical resources or contacts they might need to achieve their goals in the coming weeks and months and b) what support they can offer to other groups from their own experience and expertise. During the afternoon you will have some time to prepare you list of 'needs' and 'offers' and literally 'set out your stall' for other groups to browse. At the same time, some of your colleagues will have the chance to peruse the stalls of over 40 other groups who may be able to offer the help that you need...
Each group will be provided with a trestle table and a few small A-boards on which to make their display, so please do bring along a few leaflets, posters, pictures etc. to put out on your stall and help your CLP colleagues get an idea of what your group does. If you send James a few photos of your group in action before the end of this week, he will print off colour A4 versions and bring them to the event for you to use in your display.
We are also very happy if your group wants to get a bit more creative in your display. For instance, if you have a short PowerPoint presentation or video you would like to display, you could bring along a laptop or iPad to run it on (but make sure it is fully charged and has its own audio, if required). Small pop-up stands can also be accommodated - but you will need to erect and dismantle these yourself.
I'm looking forward to a varied and informative display to round off what will surely be a great day! If you have any other questions about the event, don't hesitate to give me a call on the usual number.
