Getting to grips with Governance

Many of the Year 3 groups will have been contacted by either myself, Ed Cooke or Janet Mullen from our Governance Team about the Governance Support Sessions available to year 3 groups. At this stage in the programme over half of the groups have received support in the form of a training session and report from the governance team.

The next round of support sessions is now underway.   There are still a number of groups who have yet to book dates with either Janet or myself.   I would ask that you contact us as soon as possible to book a suitable date. There are also a number of groups who have arranged a session but have yet to provide their completed governance health checks. These health checks are invaluable in assisting Janet and I in preparing the session and form the basis for discussion with the group.   I would encourage those year 3 groups who have yet to supply their health checks to contact either Janet or myself as soon as possible.

The sessions themselves will be of particular importance and benefit not only to those on the CLP programme but the wider committee or board. I would strongly encourage those committee or board members who can attend to come along. Feedback from those groups who have had their session has been very positive with helpful, friendly and constructive advice being offered from anything from charity status to company set-up.

For those groups who have already received their session and report, Janet and I continue to be available to provide advice and support or to answer any questions you may have. We are more than happy to take your call.
