The central services committee will make a visit to the braniel community centre to have a look round and to see what our proposal for a new community centre is all about.

18 members from all the main parties in northern ireland will be there to have a look round at the run down centre we have now and hopefully will see the same as us that the braniel NEEDS  a new centre!

As our current manager is dropping down to take a newly formed Braniel YM 2nds team we are actively seeking a replacement. Anyone interested email us @branielymfc@yahoo.co.uk.

As we are starting a 2nds team we are also looking to bring in as many players as possible for 1sts & 2nds and if interested contact us @same email address.

The braniel community association with the help of the good relations funding from the Castlereagh council will be taking 40 kids from braniel primary school to a visit to the somme museum to learn more about the history of the province.

Along with the visit to the somme the kids will be stopping for lunch at the Dundonald Ice Bowl before returning to school.  Hopefully it will be a fun day for everyone..

The good relations project with the young people sounds great. Let us know how that goes and if you have any advice for other groups I'm sure it would be very welcome. Good luck!

Recently 15 member's of the Braniel Community Association, Braniel Y.M Football Team and Dream Scheme completed a Grade 1 Drug Awareness Course which was a great success. The Course was offered to us by FASA free of charge and I'm pleased to say was very informative. We are hoping to further our education in drug awareness.

Drug's are a serious problem not just in the Braniel area but throughout Northern Ireland. I believe that drug awareness is a vital part of community development and i would encourage all group's to engage in a drug awareness programme for their area.
